Le Douaron Renews Contract with Brest, Relegation Hero Receives Salary Increase as Reward

French football club Brest has announced that striker Le Douaron has signed a new contract to remain at the club until the end of the season.

The 25-year-old forward, who was instrumental in Brest's promotion to Ligue 1 last season, has been rewarded for his efforts by receiving a salary increase.

Douaron's performance on the pitch helped Brest secure their place in the top flight for the first time since 2008, and he will be hoping to continue his impressive form this season.

"Le Douaron is a very important player for us," said manager Marc Lièvremont. "He has proved himself as one of the best strikers in the league and we're delighted to have him back."

The striker's new deal also means that he will not have to worry about finding a new club after the end of the season, which could potentially make it easier for him to focus on playing for Brest.

However, despite the news being positive for Douaron, there are still concerns about the team's chances of staying in Ligue 1. With just four games left to play, Brest currently sit in 16th place and only three points above the relegation zone.

Despite the pressure, however, Douaron remains optimistic about the future of the club and believes that they can still achieve their goals.

"I'm really happy to sign my new contract with Brest," he said. "I know that we need to work hard and put in our best performances if we want to stay in Ligue 1, but I believe in this team and I'm sure we can do it."
